The first step in ensuring your manufacturing process is operating under a state of control is to perform an audit on your suppliers to ensure that they are providing you with materials that meet your specifications. This can have a positive impact in minimizing lost production due to substandard incoming supplies and materials as well as reducing your incoming testing and release program burden, once you establish the confidence in your suppliers.

For this particular project I inspected the manufacturing facilities for a supplier of pre-processed components used for packaging pharmaceutical products. On behalf of my client, I worked with this vendor to bolster their verification testing program and batch documentation.

The final result was that my client was very pleased, and I understand that this helped the vendor market their materials to other manufacturers.
